This course covers the topic of human trafficking for healthcare professionals. Fulfills the Florida Board of Nursing 2 hour requirement for Human Trafficking. Nurses and other professionals who take this human trafficking course will be able to discuss and understand the human trafficking epidemic and identify the resources available. 

Course Objectives

This course is designed to provide healthcare and social workers with an introduction to the human trafficking epidemic, its effect on the victims and to identify resources that practitioners can use for assessment and treatment of human trafficking victims. 

Learning Objectives

  1. Define sex trafficking and forced labor trafficking
  2. Describe the personal and environmental factors that predispose an individual to becoming a victim of human trafficking
  3. Conduct an assessment of a suspected victim of human trafficking
