Pediatric abusive head trauma, commonly referred to as shaken baby syndrome, is the term used to describe the particular signs and symptoms that can occur when an infant or small child is shaken violently or when the shaking is also accompanied by an impact of the head. This course is designed to provide health care professionals, mental health professionals, and others who are likely to encounter potential abuse with the tools that they need to identify the signs of abuse and to take the appropriate action.
